Aleks started her career at the Royal Bank of Canada in Vancouver at the age of 23. She then joined a U.S. financial services technology firm working with global banks across North America, Europe and the Middle East. She was also part of the launch team of ING Direct Italy, in Milan, and was later a client partner for Tier 1 banks in EMEA spearheading new technology initiatives.
Named Ambassador of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for the “Parity in Business” program in Poland, Aleks has been widely recognized for her advocacy for women in technology and innovation. In 2018, Aleks was named the winner of the 2018 Goldman Sachs & Fortune Global Women Leaders Award in the U.S., recognizing global women leaders paying it forward.
Aleks is an alumna of the Fortune Most Powerful Women/U.S. State Department Global Mentoring Program, and she is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Vital Voices Europe, in London.
Aleks holds a B.A. in international relations from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and an MSc in European policy-making from the London School of Economics. She has completed executive leadership courses at Harvard Business School, the Scherer Leadership Center and the Center for Leadership.
