Brazil: Connecting LAC Businesswomen
The second Global Ambassadors Program mentoring forum of 2013 is happening this week in São Paulo, Brazil.
Recognizing women as the driving force for social, political and economic change in Brazil, the Global Ambassadors Program will spark meaningful connections and convene a conversation on ways to enhance women’s economic empowerment and contribution in the regional economy.
The 5-day program will gather thought leaders in the public, private, and NGO sectors in São Paulo to discuss the opportunities and barriers facing women in Brazil, and will pair emerging women leaders from across the country with established mentors. Throughout the program, mentors and mentees will exchange ideas and build upon skills and tools that enable mentees to more effectively contribute to their communities, and create positive change in Brazil as a whole.
During a public forum, dynamic panels will consider a range of themes including Women in the Workforce: A Driving Force for Business and Growth; Enabling Growth: Addressing Barriers Faced by Women-Owned SMES; Accelerating Procurement: Integrating Women-Owned Businesses into Global Value Chains; and Building Connections: Strengthening Networks Among Women in Brazil.
These discussions will highlight the vital role professional women and women entrepreneurs play in advancing Brazil’s economy, as well as actionable solutions that can be employed to tackle the social and economic challenges they face.
