Miwa Tanaka, co-founder and co-CEO of Waris Co. Ltd., launched the company in 2013 to provide job-matching services to highly skilled women to encourage them to continue advancing their careers after having children.
To date, more than 1,600 women have registered with Waris, which connects their skill sets and professional experience to suitable Japanese companies.
Miwa has served as writer and editor for popular Japanese magazines, including Nikkei Kids+ and Nikkei Woman. Her reporting covers careers and lifestyles of working women in Japan.
