President & Founder, Culinary Care

In 2006, Courtney lost her father to lung cancer. This experience was the inspiration behind Culinary Care. During her family’s difficult time, there was always one thing that brought a sense of normalcy and joy to their lives: the meals friends delivered each night.

After graduating from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2011, Courtney moved back to her hometown of Chicago where she searched for ways to bring meals to those fighting cancer, especially patients who lack the community support she had. What she found was that no organization addressing such a need existed, and that void is what inspired Culinary Care.

In 2013, at the age of 23, Courtney founded Culinary Care with a mission to provide complimentary meals to cancer patients and their families; ensuring they never have to struggle toget the nourishment they need to fight.

The organization partners with local restaurants that prepare made-to-order meals for patients in their program. Together, they have provided over 5,000 complimentary meals. Culinary Care is now working to meet the demand they receive nationally.
