Mentoring Women Ghana

Brigitte Dzogbenuku is the founder and executive director of Mentoring Women Ghana (MWG), a nonprofit organization she launched one year after participating in Vital Voices’ Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership in 2008.

MWG runs programs that prepare young girls for leadership through sports and mentoring opportunities. Brigitte also heads Recreational Facilities Management in Ghana, a company that manages various leisure and recreational facilities in the city of Accra.

2014 Updates:

Brigitte continues to live and work in Accra, running her for-profit business, Barclays Clubhouse, in addition to her non-profit, Mentoring Women Ghana.

Brigitte held a focus group discussion on Women's Voice and Agency in Accra in January of 2013. This helped her to build networks with other women from all sectors doing similar work, and also to build a new network of mentors for her Mentoring Walk program.

Brigitte remains in contact with her mentor, Wendy, and sees her as a big sister who assists her with both personal and professional challenges.
