Global Ambassadors Program: South Africa

In February, five Global Ambassadors travelled to Haiti and to help Vital Voices’ Haiti Affiliate, Femmes en Démocratie, solidify a reconstruction blueprint for their country. Today, five new Ambassadors arrived in Cape Town, South Africa:

Wendy Luhabe, South Africa – Champion of Economic Empowerment for Women and Co-Founder, Women Investment Portfolio Holdings;
Inez McCormack, Northern Ireland – Founder & Advisor, Participation and the Practice of Rights (PPR)
Denise Menelly, USA – Managing Director and Operations Executive, Global Wholesale Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Jennifer Taylor, Hong Kong – Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Ann Veneman, USA – former Executive Director, United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF) and former Secretary of Agriculture, U.S. Government

They will mentor six accomplished Vital Voices Global Leadership Network (GLN) members from Israel, Ghana, Argentina, Burma and Afghanistan.

Through a combination of one-on-one sessions and in collaboration with 16 additional leading GLN members, they will foster a strategic dialogue on Translating Presence into Collective Power: A Platform on Women’s Voice and Agency.

Participants will be divided into three groups, with each led by one to three members of the Global Leadership Network who will be supported by their mentors: the Global Ambassadors.
